The Work of the Auxiliary of IWS

Over 750 volunteers in 15 chapters across Chicagoland make the Auxiliary of the Infant Welfare Society one of the largest and most active organizations of its kind in the area. The Auxiliary provides major financial support to the Infant Welfare Society (over $600,000 annually) derived from various fundraising events which include Tablescapes, book reviews, golf opens, galas, fashion shows and decorator showhouses. Last year these events drew more than 15,000 attendees.

Members add a very personal touch to their support of the Clinic through participation in Auxiliary-wide projects such as the Holiday Special Gifts Program for the Clinic's most needy patients, an annual "See Santa" Party and a "Reading Round'Up" literacy event. The Auxiliary also manages a Resale Shop, offers educational enrichment programs for the children, and provides community outreach via its involvement in neighborhood health fairs.

Each member of The Hinsdale Chapter volunteers her time at The Angel Harvey Infant Welfare Society of Chicago Community Health Center. Our annual fundraising event, Tablescapes (currently celebrating its 14th year) is a celebration of entertaining with all proceeds benefiting The Infant Welfare Society of Chicago. Other special projects of our chapter include adopting families during the holidays, preparing Mother's Day gift bags and gathering baby essentials for new mothers.
